DNR -Outdoor Learning Center Experience

Just a note reminding the chapter of our upcoming meeting and facility tour at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Outdoor Adventure Center located in Detroit. This newly renovated facility is an excellent example of adaptive reuse of an existing period building. The OAC serves as a educational center for both young and old to experience and learn about the abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities in Michigan.
The facility will be closed to the public during our event allowing an exclusive opportunity to enjoy the facility as well as, beer, wine and appetizers. In addition and because the facility is technically closed, we’ve made an arrangement with the DNR to exchange information – the DNR will allow our group unsupervised access to most of the facility in exchange for our combined opinions and observations as to possible betterment in FM practices. I think it a great trade off!
The meeting runs 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
